Urbana 2009.

I’d every intention of updating more often, and sharing many pictures, but unfortunately the wifi at our hotel was $13 a day! No thanks. 😀

Urbana was amazing. God was moving, no doubt about it. Some of my favorite thoughts shared, which I wrote in my journal:

“if God’s called you to do it, then that’s the most spiritual thing for you to be doing.”
“I ended up doing something kind of dangerous, which was picking up the Bible and reading it.”
“There’s no such thing as short-term in the mission of God.”
“He is not safe, but he is good.”
“There is a place for holy mischief centered and grounded on Jesus.”
“Jesus is bound to get us in trouble at some point.”

Last night we rang in the new year.  We all caught the very last Metro and it was packed. The worship had been off the hook and everybody was just radiating the Spirit. There was singing and laughing and I couldn’t help but imagine a world like that… where strangers were friends waiting to happen, and crowded public transportation was an impromptu worship service. What a world, right? My heart longs for that, for the people of this world to be reconciled to their Creator.

I fell in love with the community of Urbana. St. Louis was transformed into our own little playground, as we shared with each other and heard each others stories and prayed together. I met some fantastic people.

If only I’d taken more pictures… which is what I always think, but oh well. Not much I can do to change that now.

first arriving in st. louis =D

our hotel room for the week. it was a beautiful, beautiful hotel.

one evening we had a simple dinner with limited water. it filled my heart.

Edited to add this video of the last trip on the Metrolink after an amazing few hours of worship.. for some reason I can’t embed it, so here’s a link: http://vimeo.com/8484393 (I should’ve just stuck with youtube!)
