Every time it rains…. [Charlotte Martin]

Over the past few days, I’ve been reacquainting myself with the Pacific Northwest. It’s been rainy with some patches of sunshine, and it’s been fantastic.

As part of my new quest to set small goals and accomplish them, Thursday night I decided to make breakfast the next morning. I woke up and thought “I don’t have enough time to make breakfast” but realized that an hour and a half was really enough time if I got out of bed at that moment and did it.

It wasn’t much, as I am no real cook. As I listened to Bethany Dillon and Matt Hammitt’s CD of modern hymns with the rain gently pouring outside, I decided to take my breakfast to the porch and eat it, sheltered from the rain but still among it.

It was chilly but relaxing and it gave me the opportunity to calm my spirit, read the Word, and start my day off right. This needs to happen more often, I’ve decided.

Friday evening was my evening with my precious Bramwell. His parents and brother went to an Apologetix concert so Bram and I went for a trip to Taco Bell, made some silly videos, and ran around having fun. He brings much joy to my heart and I feel so blessed to be a part of his life, and he a part of mine. Plus he is cute and easily influenced.

The rain has put me in a strange mood.

My heart feels restless.

This too, shall pass.

  1. It’s strange, but rain sometimes puts me in a good mood too. I’m not real sure why, it just happens. Rain gives me motivation to stop moving so much and to relax and enjoy life a bit. It forces me to NOT go outside and run errands and go and go and go, but instead, it allows me to curl up on the couch and watch a movie I’ve been wanting to see but never had time to. Rain forces me to relax a little so that I can attack the next day full force 🙂
